The During Drink is built around a 2:1:1.5 carbohydrate ratio - maltodextrin, glucose, and fructose - absorbed through different pathways. The result is 45g of carbohydrates moving through your system continuously, not competing for the same route. 343mg of sodium keeps fluid absorption on track and replaces what you lose.

Fuel protocol step 01

The During Drink delivers the same fixed dose as the gel - 45g carbohydrates, 343mg sodium. Switch formats mid-race, mix them across sessions, and your intake stays identical. There's nothing to recalculate and nothing to adjust, because the protocol already made that decision for you.

Fuel protocol step 02

The 2:1:1.5 triple-source carbohydrate ratio - maltodextrin, glucose, fructose - works by saturating multiple absorption pathways at the same time rather than competing for one. That means more carbohydrates absorbed, less pressure on your gut, and energy output that holds steady from the first hour through the last.

Every formula was developed and tested with elite endurance athletes in real training and race conditions. Not in a lab chasing optimal numbers, but on courses and in sessions where fatigue is real and fuelling has to hold without any thinking involved.
